Postpartum Doula

 

What a postpartum doula provides?

 

  • Evidence based breastfeeding support: latch and positioning

  • Newborn Care: education, and soothing techniques

  • Baby Wearing: instruction with wraps, slings, and structured carriers

  • Emotional and physical recovery from labor

  • Sibling Care

  • Meal preparation and light housekeeping

  • Accompanying mother and infant to doctor appointments

  • Unlimited phone and email support

  • Professional referrals as needed

 

Doulas in LA Postpartum doulas are there to nurture the family and support mothers during this great time of change. She is a mentor who answers your questions and provides much needed assurance in a gentle, non-judgmental way, allowing you to develop your own unique parenting style. Postpartum care begins after the birth of your baby for a minimum of 4 hours per day for as many days or weeks as you choose. This could be as few as 3 three visits or 3 months of service, it’s entirely based on the personal needs of your family.

 

At Doulas in LA our Postpartum doulas are trained in breastfeeding education, newborn care, baby wearing, belly binding with Bengkung belly binds*, Vaginal Steams*, Sacred Stone massage*, emotional and physical recovery, sibiling care and inclusion, meal prep and light housekeeping.

 

The items marked with * are an extra charge.

 

How much does a Postpartum Doula charge?

Most of our postpartum doulas charge $30 - $55 per hour, depending on their experience, education, and what the job calls for ie twins, multiples, etc.
